David’s Letter To His Boys

David hasn’t spoken to his boys, David and Christian, since the day his ex-wife kidnapped them and fled to Russia. He wrote them this letter from prison in the hopes that one day they would find it online. Please share it with your friends and family online.

My dear sons, David and Christian,

If you are reading this, then you must have found my website "freedavidbarnes.com", a website created by people trying to help me and us. Thousands of people in America and Russia know I am innocent and are supporting us. You know I am innocent as well. Don't worry, we will be together again.

I know that both of you remember all the great times we spent together in America. David, I was able to spend more time with you because Christian was too young at the time. But, Christian, I couldn't wait to have you stay with me and go on trips like David and I did. I love you so much. I was devastated when your Mom took you from me. I came to Russia only to see you both legally.

David, do you remember when I lived in City Center, and we would ride our bikes to the park and play on equipment? We would kick ant piles, and I would explain how ants live. I taught you how to ride your bike without training wheels on the grass. We would play basketball and fly kites.

On the way home, do you remember when I showed you the difference between bats and birds? We would walk to the fountains and listen to the concerts and eat red Mango smoothies. You would play with the other children as I watched. At home, I would cook spaghetti, and we would watch movies like Big Hero 6, Madagascar, and Frozen.

We would read and play with toys and drums. David, I'm sure you remember when we flew to Colorado and rode gondolas, white water rafted, road horses, canoed, and even saw a moose. You jumped off a diving board for the first time, and we went down waterslides and rode carts and four wheelers.

That winter we returned to Colorado where you played in the snow, and I taught you to ski. That summer, we drove an RV to Big Bend where we camped and built fires on the fire pit, rode horses, and climbed the hills. Do you remember going to Carlsbad Caverns where we explored caves? We had a great time.

Christian, once you were old enough, you and David would come to my place where we would all play together, or I would watch while you and David played. You guys would build forts in the apartment. We would play laser tag and play with your toys. Christian, you very much liked the electronic toys. We would all go to places where they had drums, keyboards, guitars, and microphones, and we would sing and play music together. David, I understand you still play the drums, and Christian likes science. We all would go kayaking on Lake Woodlands, ride our bikes and scooters on the waterway trails, hunt for insects and have a great time. And I taught you to roller skate and ice skate.

David and Christian, I love you both very much and have never stopped thinking about you. I think about you every day. I am your father and will always be here for you.

Love,
Dad
